Web builds
Web builds are giving me a lot more headaches than I could have ever imagined. I can see why many still don't consider the web to be a legitimate gaming platform. There's just so many little things that go wrong that you don't see at all when you're developing in the engine.
I went through all 17 levels today, tested them thoroughly, did balancing on the individual blocks to make sure that the level wasn't too hard or too easy, but then I publish that to a web build and all that goes out the window. The timing is all off and different, the balls get stuck or fly out the level for no apparent reason. The web build once uploaded to itch.io complains that some setting I've never heard of before isn't supported and therefore I have to go dig around to figure out what I clicked by accident in the export settings.
So many glitches appear that you didn't see while testing the first time. In a sense this is a blessing because fixing all this stuff is an education, that's how I try to look at all problems now, as opportunities to learn and get better.
I'll keep plugging away!
